On the Go!

Long runs, slow evenings and salty water
All that summer should be.

School has started and life is moving at 1,000 mph. This year I am excited to be doing two things I love;teaching poetry and coaching cross country. I think of running and writing as expansive and limitless, the essence of freedom. I have found that teaching is not the hard part, it’s the un- teaching that is….. Poetry should be analyzed and dissected until it becomes sterile and running should be structured, limited, and timed until it becomes drudgery…. That seems to be popular opinion. Sometimes it’s easy to feel discouraged but patience is a friend of mine. The little stresses can be dissolved from a high trail, ocean plunge, or a look from my beloved. In the end beauty wins!
