Wildfires burning in the back of my mind
Back to a time
When things were simple by design

Before News was a commodity
Bought and sold on our hopes and fears
The made up threats assaulting our money, family, and modesty

Now we are just scrolling our way to hell
Our heads, better off under the sand
Resistance is a choice that begins within
Holding close, the truths we refuse to sell

All the lies and greed we are forced to see
Are an illusion created
To stoke a corrupt economy

Some say that God is dead
And some say that God is available for a price to pay
All the while our time, we give away

Now we are just scrolling our way to hell
Our heads, better off under the sand
Resistance is a choice that begins within
Holding close, the truths we refuse to sell

Wildfires burning in the back of my mind
Back to a time
When things were simple by design

Although simple was never the case
Generational manipulations
Have always been in place

Forced to choose a side
From transmissions meant to divide
Makes it easy to be exploited when
Blindfolds cover our eyes and dimly lit face

Scrolling our way to Hell

Crazy story. I meet this dude while filling up my cup at the Wawa coffee bar. We start talking bout SUP and surf and somehow we end up on the book born to run and how I should read it. Well several weeks later we leave town to avoid a hurricane. I end up at a hotel with my in-laws and my iPad. I quickly learn how to order a book and get instant access. I pick born to run and the opening talks about two Va beach life guards and I think fiction. I pretty much went cover to cover in a day. So several Wawa visits later I run into my friend and thank em for turning me onto this book. He quickly tells me thats my son Billy. I’m like no fucking way really. I now have run several ultras and see your dad now and then mostly on Northampton as we both have Tacomas and his stands out more with the full door on the back camper so a honk and a wave. The blog articles and pictures really help me get motivated. Thank you for sharing.
Your friend, Jerry
